Notice of Changes to U.S. Tariff Policy
New U.S. Section 301 Tariffs Take Effect, Affecting 60 Countries and Regions
According to the latest announcement by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), new Section 301 tariffs officially took effect on July 24, 2026, at 00:01 Eastern Time.
Chinese-origin goods will be subject to an additional 12.5% tariff.
Goods subject to a 10% tariff:
Argentina, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom
Goods subject to a 12.5% tariff:
Algeria, Angola, Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Guyana, Hong Kong, China, Iraq, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam
Exemption Scope:
(1) Certain products including steel, aluminum, copper, auto parts, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, wood products, and semiconductors may qualify for exemptions.
(2) Goods shipped before 00:01 on July 24, 2026, and either declared for consumption or withdrawn from bonded warehouses for consumption before 00:01 on July 28, 2026, may qualify for in-transit exemption.
(3) Medical-use products / civil aircraft and components / items listed under List 52(b) / items listed under List 52(c).
